Relaxed, documentary wedding photography across Northumberland. I'm Nick, a North East photographer based in Stockton on Tees, with over 250 weddings and more than 10 years behind me. From the coast at Newton Hall to Le Petit Chateau and the beams at Healey Barn, Northumberland is one of my favourite places to photograph a wedding. My best advice when choosing a photographer? Meet them first, in person or on a video call. We'll be spending your whole day together, so it matters that we get on.

My style is natural, relaxed, fun and beautiful. I love to take photos in a documentary-styled way, which allows me to capture, moments and emotion and that you can re-live through my pictures, no matter what you are planning for your big day.
Dogs as ring bearers? Let's do it. Bring your motorbike? Go for it. How about a breakdance battle for your first dance? Yes! Intimate wedding in your backyard? I don’t know yet what you have in mind, but I can’t wait to plan with you.
I love to travel around the UK, Europe, and well really the World. Although I spend most of my time around the North East, I still love to come to Northumberland, Lake District... That doesn't mean I don't go further. I always love to visit new places so no matter where your ideal location is, send me a quick 'Hello', and I would love to photograph your journey.
Whether you are comfortable in front of the lens or not, I have plenty of experience to help create your natural photos without feeling too weird.
Northumberland
Northumberland is made for wedding photos. You've got big skies, empty beaches, castles on the coast and Hadrian's Wall across the hills, with country houses and rustic barns in between. Whether you're planning a castle wedding, a tipi at Kielder or a barn in the countryside, the backdrop does a lot of the work.
Northumberland venues I know well: Le Petit Chateau, Healey Barn, Newton Hall, Doxford Hall, Matfen Hall, Halton Grove, Charlton Hall, Horton Grange, Shotton Grange, The Comb, Kielder Water and the Treehouse at Alnwick Garden.
Half day (up to 4 hours) from £1,195. Full day from £1,795. A £300 booking fee secures your date, with the rest due 30 days before your wedding. Travel to Northumberland is included with all full day packages; half day packages may have a travel charge depending on your venue. View packages.

I visit Northumberland many times a year for a wedding and some of my popular wedding venues are Healey Barn which I absolutely love I love the colours of exposed beams and bricks which suits perfectly with my style of photography with my colour tones, if you look at any of my photo galleries from Healey Barn you will see what I mean. Another is Le Petit Château, as you have probably guessed by some of the photos you will find throughout my website. Another is Newton Hall again although this is slightly different than say Healey Barn it still suits me perfectly on my approach and style of photography. What is a reasonable amount to spend on a wedding photographer?
My full day packages start from £1,795, and half day packages start from £1,195.
Is 4 hours enough time for wedding photography?
My half day package covers 4 hours, which is where my packages start, but that only covers part of a wedding day. For full coverage, from getting ready through to the first dance, my full day package covers 10 hours.
How long is reasonable to wait for wedding photos?
Usually 3 to 4 weeks in the quieter months, and 4 to 10 weeks in the busy wedding season. I'll always aim to get your photos to you as soon as I can.
Why wedding photographers are so expensive?
Equipment is only a small part of this but, the biggest reasons are, experience, a creative eye, the ability to adapt to all lighting and weather conditions, and your experience from enquiry to photos being delivered.
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 12 to 24 months ahead, and I take bookings up to 2 years in advance.
