The Comb at Hexham, A Picturesque Wedding Venue

The Comb Reivers Estate is a beautifully restored stone-built farm that is surrounded by a national park and woodland. The Comb in Hexham is an exclusive wedding venue just for you, The Comb sits at the head of the picturesque valley and is perfect for any wedding.

Your special day should be unique. That’s why The Comb gives you the freedom to design your own wedding and to bring your own caterers along too.

So forget about standard wedding packages, dreary menus and inflated prices. At Reivers you can decorate in your own style and eat your own kind of food, making use of their facilities, would you prefer to exchange vows in the pretty courtyard, in the main Comb building or under the high roof of our fully-restored wedding barn? Perhaps you’d rather step out and tie the knot in a flowering field, with the backdrop provided by deciduous woodland and acres of grounds.

They are fully licensed and, as ever, the choice is yours!

Most barns don’t come with a licensing bar, stage, dance floor, food preparation area and toilets but here at The Comb, they do! With seating room for up to 150 guests.

The Couple

Craig & Kate met on a blind date for salsa dancing, it was Craig's friend who worked with Kate's friend and they set it up. Kate is a mental health nurse and Craig is a joiner and they are both from Newcastle. They have a rabbit called Luna and a lab puppy named Elber. Craig popped the question on boxing day on top of a mountain in Austria!

Their wedding theme was mountains! And bridesmaids are burgundy, ties will be, and the overall colour scheme is burgundy burnt orange and mustard.

The one piece of advice they would give other couples planning on getting married is "be organised and keep at it as it comes around fast even with a one-year postpone!"

Thinking about getting married at The Comb? I can’t wait to get back there again so please contact me to tell me all about your plans, I would love to capture your wedding day memories.

The Comb

The Comb is a small hamlet located in the county of Northumberland, in the northeast of England. It is situated in a remote, rural area surrounded by rolling hills, picturesque countryside and an abundance of wildlife.

The Comb has a long and rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. The area was once an important center for the lead-mining industry, with evidence of mining activity still visible today. In more recent times, the hamlet has become popular with tourists, drawn by its peace and quiet, beautiful scenery and friendly locals.

One of the main attractions in Comb is its stunning natural environment. The rolling hills and moors of Northumberland are home to a wide variety of wildlife, including red squirrels, badgers, and many species of birds. The area is also popular with walkers, with many well-trodden footpaths and trails leading through the beautiful countryside.

For those interested in history, Comb has plenty to offer. The hamlet is surrounded by the remains of ancient castles and fortifications, including the ruins of Hadrian's Wall. This historic structure was built by the Romans in the 2nd century AD and runs for 73 miles across northern England, offering a unique glimpse into the country's past.

Another popular tourist attraction in Comb is the historic market town of Hexham. This charming town is just a short drive from Comb and is known for its historic abbey, vibrant local market, and charming shopping streets. Visitors can also take a stroll along the banks of the River Tyne, or enjoy a picnic in one of the town's many parks and gardens.

For those looking for a more relaxed and peaceful holiday, Comb is the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. There are plenty of opportunities for rest and relaxation, including long walks in the countryside, fishing in the rivers and streams, and simply enjoying the peace and quiet of this picturesque hamlet.

In conclusion, Comb in Northumberland is a hidden gem that is well worth a visit. Its stunning natural environment, rich history, and peaceful atmosphere make it an ideal destination for those looking for a true escape from the stresses of modern life. Whether you're interested in history, the great outdoors or simply want to relax and unwind, Comb has something for everyone.
