The Matfen Hall estate tucked away in the centre of mediaeval Northumberland, England, close to Hexham and Newcastle upon Tyne, is the settlement and civil parish of Matfen and is a few miles to the north of Hadrian's Wall. Stob Stone, an ancient standing stone next to Standing Stone Farmhouse, is located roughly halfway between the two. The stone is decorated with cup markings and is roughly seven feet high.
