The Wedding Day
This was my very first wedding at Howard Court, back when it was a brand new venue in North Yorkshire and wow did the team at Howard Court do an amazing job! I've been back many times since, and I'm now one of their recommended suppliers.
The day started for me in Middlesbrough, at her mother's home, for her bridal preparations. Ashleigh had her friends, mother and her little girl around for the bridal preparations. It was such a lovely time to witness as they are clearly all very close and it was a beautiful morning and start to the day.
When I arrived at Howard Court, the boys were already there, and I could tell Michale was very nervous I could tell the last thing he wanted was me in his face with a camera, so I said a quick hello and captured this part of the day at a distance. (at a later time he thanked me for that and I got some great shots with him and the boys later after the ceremony)
Every ceremony is special and lovely for many reasons but there is something about a wedding ceremony when the couple have young kids that make it extra special, the way they react when they see their parent for the first time that day, and the way the couple react to there kids is just beautiful.

IS 7 HOURS ENOUGH FOR A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
Yes, it can be for a small wedding or elopement, it may not capture every part of the day but will capture the main traditions of a wedding.
DO YOU COVER MY AREA?
Yes, I do. I travel all around the UK and further. Travel is included in all my packages for County Durham, Newcastle and North Yorkshire, and for Northumberland with full day coverage. I have a backup solution for everything. I have a backup of all my equipment and a great backup for all my photos too.

Howard Court is a wedding venue near Great Ayton in North Yorkshire, with Roseberry Topping right on its doorstep. There's a beautiful drive up to the house, a barn for ceremonies, and open fields with some of the best views in the area.
It's a relaxed, welcoming venue, and the team there do an amazing job every time. As one of their recommended suppliers, I know the venue really well, from the best spots for photos to how the day usually flows.

Roseberry Topping in the field
The field with Roseberry Topping behind you is the iconic Howard Court photo, and one I never get tired of taking.
Sunset on the other side of the field
For sunset, I head to the opposite side of the field, where the evening light is at its best. If the sky is looking good, I'll aim to take you out for a few minutes together.
The rhubarb leaves
I love using the big leaves from the rhubarb plants as a backdrop. They make for something fun, natural and a little bit different.
The drive and the house
The beautiful drive that leads up to the house is a lovely setting, and it's brilliant for confetti and big group shots. A win win.
If it rains
If the weather turns, I use flash in the wedding breakfast room, which works best for indoor photos here. The barn where the ceremony takes place is another great option, so you're covered either way.
