DANBY CASTLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Danby Castle is a historic wedding venue on the edge of the North York Moors near Whitby. Danby Castle is 14th-century ruins and another fantastic wedding venue option.

The Barn is an excellent space for any Wedding Breakfast, the moors are a perfect backdrop to your wedding photos, the grounds and ruins are perfect for group photos and your portraits, and the list goes on really.

I shoot weddings throughout the UK, with the hope to travel the world to become a destination wedding photographer, however today I was only 45 minutes from Danby Castle, and so lucky to have this so close to me.

I photographed Adam & Lucy's wedding, it was October 2022 and a bright but, windy day however when you are actually on the grounds it is so well sheltered and only noticeable when you go for a walk onto the moors, so it was no problem at all.

This was another fun and fantastic wedding at Danby Castle, from start to finish I think I had a smile on my face. So many moments like cake cutting and Lucy stabbing Adam, this was an accident of course and the cake knife like most is blunt thank god too! I like to get close to the action to capture some great shots but when there are carnival games set up and I am just below the tin cans it was always going to happen, yes you guessed it I was hit by a tin can and falling by the groom, lucky it was an empty one and not an entire tin of Baked Beans!

So many more moments, from the ceremony to the speeches, I will say one more thing about Danby Castle and which is one of my favourite venues in North Yorkshire.

Lucy & Adam

They met in May 2019, Adam was in the military and happened to be working in Middlesbrough at the recruitment office. they started chatting and never stopped.

Lucy is a healthcare assistant and Adam is an engineer in the military. Lucy has a dog coco, which stays with her parents but she came to the wedding and was adorable! They also have 3 cats. The first cat is a black and white cat called Evie, they adopted there their second cat, a rescue, his name is Harry Potter. They recently decided to get a new cat named pumpkin.

Lucy is from Middlesbrough, her dad is originally from Turkey and Adam- is from Horden originally, but they bought their first home together last year in march.

They chose Danby castle it was there the first venue they visited but they fell in love with it instantly and I understand why any would if you visited.

Their wedding was planned to be a relaxed, fun, rustic wedding with Lucy's favourite Turkish wedding traditions. The wedding colour theme is pink and burgundy.

Me as A photographer! My style is a natural, documentary, I try to tell a story with my images.
