OMG, really turned it on for this wedding — not just with its normal grand country house charm and sweeping views of the countryside, but with wall-to-wall sunshine from start to finish. Yep, the kind of day you dream of when you’re planning a wedding in the UK.
A Crathorne Hall Wedding To Remember
Wow Crathorne Hall, really turned it on for this one. Some wedding days just get everything right, and Ellen and Luke's was definitely one of them. We had wall-to-wall sunshine from start to finish — the kind you cross your fingers for when you're getting married in the UK. It just makes everything look that little bit more epic.
I turned up in the morning and the buzz was already there. Ellen and her bridesmaids were getting ready in one of Crathorne's incredible suites, and the light pouring through those massive windows was just unreal. There's a certain magic to that morning light, a soft, golden glow that feels full of promise for the day ahead.
The ceremony was in the Drawing Room, which is always a class spot for photos. You've got these huge windows and high ceilings, and it just has that timeless elegance Crathorne is famous for. With the sun streaming in, the whole room was filled with this warm, romantic light as Luke and Ellen said their vows in front of their family, friends, and their little VIP, their daughter. It felt like the sun itself was part of the celebration.
Afterwards, everyone headed out to the terrace for drinks. Sunglasses on, prosecco flowing — it was that perfect, chilled-out part of the day where the laughter is non-stop and no one's watching the clock. The grounds at Crathorne are something else, so we took a quick wander for a few relaxed photos under the trees. No awkward posing, just them being them. We even managed to sneak in a few golden-hour shots later on that were pure magic.
The speeches were a proper rollercoaster of emotions — tears one minute, belly laughs the next. Just real, heartfelt stories. As the sun went down, the party properly kicked off. More drinks, some questionable dance moves, and just a whole lot of joy.
This was my kind of wedding, through and through. A stunning venue, a brilliant couple who just let me do my thing, and a day packed with genuine, unscripted moments. Crathorne Hall never fails to deliver, but with sunshine like that? It was on another level. A genuinely class day to be a part of.
