THE CEREMONY
The ceremony. Where it all comes together
The ceremony is the heart of the day, the moment everything builds towards. It can feel calm, emotional, full of laughter—or sometimes all of that within a few minutes. My focus is on capturing it as it really happens, not just the vows but the reactions around you: hands held a little tighter, nervous smiles, glances shared when nobody else is watching. I work quietly and respectfully, blending into the background so nothing feels staged or interrupted, always watching the full picture.
A lot happens in moments you might miss—the pride on a parent’s face, friends trying not to cry, the relief and happiness on your faces once the vows are done. I photograph all of this in a way that feels natural and unobtrusive, no matter the venue or ceremony style. I am used to working with celebrants, registrars, and religious leaders, following the rules of the space while still telling the full story.
Ceremony photos are emotional, honest, and full of meaning. They capture the words spoken, the nerves, and the moment you become married. Years later, these are the images that bring you straight back to that moment, which is why I approach this part of the day with care, patience, and a lot of heart.
