Amy & Amy | Wylam Brewery  |  Newcastle | 4th June

Let's Get To Know The Couple!

So I asked the 2 beautiful Amy's a few questions to get to know them a bit more and here is what they said...

Q1 - Amy P is the music lover in our house, she likes more indie-type music and Frank Turner is her favourite but she has varied tastes and also loves Taylor Swift! Amy A generally listens to whatever Amy P puts on haha but we both like Lucy Spraggan and actually saw her together at the sage for one of our early dates.

Q2 - Amy A particularly loves Bake off and is super happy it is back at the moment but we are both fans. We both like how I met your mother and Ru Paul’s drag race. We did love killing Eve and like any crime series that we can get into.

Q3 - We initially met online but met up quite quickly in Newcastle on a sunny back holiday for drinks and quickly realised how quickly time passes when we are chatting when we had to dash to the station for Amy P to get the last train home, it was actually cancelled!

Q4 - Amy A is a mental health nurse currently working in GP surgeries and Amy P is a marketing manager for a food service company.

Q5 - We have a cat called Honey who Amy P had before we met and just this weekend got a puppy Cockapoo called Truffle who is keeping us very busy but is very cute so we forgive him!

Q6 - Amy A grew up in Gateshead and has lived in Newcastle since returning from university in Bristol in 2014.

Amy P has a much more confusing home town! She grew up in Middlesbrough until aged 8 when she moved to Bristol then Somerset aged 14. She moved back up to Middlesbrough to go to university and has since lived in Darlington before moving up to Newcastle to live together.

Q7 - Amy A proposed on a Sunday afternoon after a long lockdown in the house it seemed like the best place to pop the question so she created a puzzle/ escape room type game with clues and codes that led to the proposal. It was quite a long wait for the proposal when Amy P took almost an hour to do a jigsaw haha!

Q8 - Amy P always liked Wylam brewery and thought it would be a good wedding venue, we also had our first new year there. We still had an open mind when we went to visit but the whole feeling of the place felt 100% us, topped off by the fact that the pillars say Anderson’s of Gateshead (Amy As surname and childhood town) it seemed meant to be for us.

Q9 - one of our bridesmaids who is also a wedding coordinator had been to a wedding you photographed and said how approachable and friendly you were and how lovely your pictures are. With that review and looking at your pictures we knew we would be good for our wedding.

Q10 - We think it is going to be Sunday Afternoon by Katie Kittermaster. She’s quite unknown yet but she supported Lucy Spraggan when we saw her and the song featured heavily in our early relationship and is such a beautiful song.

Q11 - We don’t have a theme per se but at a brewery, there’s likely to be a lot of beer/booze-related decoration for example beer bottle table plan. We want a laid-back atmosphere. We are planning on making a lot of our decorations ourselves with dried flowers and haven’t 100% decided on dresses but think they may be lilac to go with the purple in the dried lavender.

Q12 - I’m not sure if we are best to give advice as we are both quite laid back and disorganised with it all! But perhaps to try and enjoy and not put too much pressure on pleasing everyone, find a day that fits with what you enjoy and the rest will (hopefully) follow! And don’t get a puppy when trying to plan haha!
