What A Wedding Venue!

Wow, what can I say but wow what a stunning wedding, Sarah and David are just an awesome couple and the day was to match at the stunning Sneaton Castle in Whitby. Sneaton Castle wants to give their full undivided attention to you this is why they will host only one wedding ceremony a day.

How We Met

Let me rewind to the beginning, I was asked to photograph a dance class in Stockton back in 2016/2017 and this is where Sarah first saw me in action and my photos of her beautiful little girls. It wasn’t long after that they got in touch and asked me to photograph their wedding and I was super excited to say yes of course. 

They had an engagement shoot at a local Park (Ropner Park) which was a great time, it gave me chance to get to know them all better, yes they all have 2 stunning little girls who were great on the day too.

Ok, I wish it was as straightforward as everyone wants their planes to be but their wedding was booked for 2020! Yes, the dreaded C word “COVID” We managed to rearrange the date with a change of venue too, which was still in the process of becoming a wedding venue so, therefore, more concerns that it will be ready. 

The Wedding Day

Now let’s fast forward to July 2021, and we are on, the venue was not only ready but looked incredible they had done an amazing job. 

I started nice and early at Whitby to cover every minute of the day which started with the bridal preparation at Sneaton Castle. Sarah had great suppliers surrounding her, she was so cool and calm, during the preparation. The bridal preparations are always a great part of any wedding to capture and document especially when you are surrounded by your close friends, family and their children, this was a room full of love and laughter!

David came with his brothers already and suited and booted, so we just had a bit of fun taking photos of him and his vintage motorbike that he brought.

Wasn’t long after this, when their guest started to arrive, and that's when the fun and nerves can normally set in at the wedding, I wouldn’t blame him either as this meant so much to them both as they have been together from school, yes they were childhood sweethearts. 

The ceremony was just perfect, and in a perfect setting the ceremony room was just like the rest of the castle stunning, this was a fantastic place to be and though it was my first time photographing at Sneaton Castle in North Yorkshire, I really hope it won't be the last. 

Like everything else up to this point, the rest of the day went smoothly and everyone was having a great time, which means I have some great natural photos of them and their guest. The speech is another great moment in a wedding especially when the speeches are so personal and in this case, David's brother Aidan who was the best man did his speech and was verity emotional it was a great speech too, full of everything that a speech should be from a best man and your little brother.

Should I mention the night session, hmm YES, they love music and they love to dance and that meant one thing, a great way to finish the day with an amazing party!!!

IS 5 HOURS ENOUGH TIME FOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY?

For an elopement 5 hours is great, otherwise, 5 hours of a wedding day is half a day's coverage. For full-day coverage, a minimum of 10 hours would be needed

WHY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS ARE SO EXPENSIVE?

Equipment is only a small part of this but, the biggest reasons are, experience, a creative eye, the ability to adapt to all lighting and weather conditions, and your experience from enquiry to photos being delivered.
