Champagne Spray at Your Wedding—How to Make It Epic!
If you’re looking for a fun, high-energy moment at your wedding, a champagne spray is the one. It’s celebratory, a little bit messy, and makes for some seriously amazing photos. Whether you’re popping bottles in broad daylight or lighting up the night with an epic splash, here’s how to make your champagne moment truly unforgettable.
Daytime Champagne Sprays—Golden, Glowing & Full of Energy
A daytime champagne spray is all about golden light, big laughs, and capturing that instant burst of fun. If it’s sunny, you’ll get that beautiful sparkle as the champagne catches the light. Even on an overcast day, the movement and energy will shine through.
🔹 Best Tips for a Daytime Spray:
- Stand where the light is best—backlighting (sun behind you) makes the spray glow!
- Have a dark Background behind you so the spray pops out
- First put your thumb over and shake the bottle well and go F-in Crazy!
- Go all in—half-hearted sprays look, well… half-hearted!
If you love natural, documentary-style shots, I’ll keep things simple and focus on capturing the joy as it happens—no fancy tricks, just real, fun moments.
Nighttime Champagne Sprays—Flash or No Flash?
At night, things get a little moodier, and you’ve got two options: keep it natural or go all-out with a flash-lit explosion.
✨ Without Flash: If there’s ambient light (fairy lights, candles, or even a sparkler exit), a natural champagne spray can look incredible. The glow from the surrounding lights adds a romantic vibe, and the motion blur makes it feel dynamic and real.
💥 With Flash: (My go to and favourite) This is where things get epic. A backlit flash will freeze the champagne mid-air, turning every droplet into a sparkling explosion. It’s bold, dramatic, and looks unreal in photos!
🔹 Best Tips for a Nighttime Spray (that I will do)
- For a natural look, make sure there’s some ambient light—fairy lights work wonders.
- For a flash-lit pop, I’ll set up an off-camera flash behind you to make the spray explode with light.
- Keep the background in mind—a darker backdrop makes the spray stand out more.
Whichever you would like to go for, have between 2-4 bottles and get the cheap stuff, the none alcoholic from cheap supermarkets version, the fiver-a-bottle stuff!
Bonus Tip: Make It a Moment
The best champagne spray photos come from the best reactions! Get your wedding party involved, embrace the chaos, and don’t worry about the mess. Whether you’re spraying to kick off the party or ending the night with a bang, it’s all about the moment—and I’ll be there to capture it perfectly.
So, fancy popping some bubbly at your wedding? Let’s make it amazing! 🍾✨
